New Possibilities For Marketers as Mobile Media Usage Soars
Today, one out of every seven minutes of media consumption happens on a mobile device (IPG’s Universal McCann and AOL).
Marketers risk losing out on huge opportunities if they don’t communicate about their brands with mobile users. Especially with mobile usage expected to grow by 60% over the next two years.
Currently, there are 63 million mobile web users in the United States. 19 million of these access the Internet on a weekly basis
80 percent of smart-phone users are satisfied with the quality of the Internet on their mobile devises. The majority believe it improves their quality of life.
73 percent of users reported searching for maps or directions. 55 percent said they participated in social networking or sought out restaurant and movie listings or reviews. 44 percent searched national news and information.
77 percent of users polled in a research study by IPG’s Universal McCann and AOL said that they use TV and mobile at the same time to enhance the overall media-consumption experience.
38 percent of respondents said they had taken action based on mobile ads and that these ads had led them to share information while 22 percent said that mobile ads had influenced a purchase decision.
